Great job. As the son of a retired member of FDNY...I must Thank God. I am deeply grateful that I never had to encounter such an event. I am deeply saddened by the lose of 343 of Daddy's brethren and the families of those lost on 11, Sept. 2001. Further, I do not condone the "prostituted" version of the WTC flag-raising FDNY statue.

Warren

I try to avoid sites like yours. Not because I don't like them but because I want to stop crying. Everyday a firetruck passes by. I am reminded each time that my Friend will not call out my name and say "Whoa! Girl!" or some other wild greeting. I am reminded now that he is gone when the truck with his name and that of the others lost from his company passes by. I have not gone to Ground Zero nor do I plan to. I avoid the subway and will drive out of my way just to avoid the area. To the men of Ladder 110 and Engine 207 (Tillary Street) you are Loved. NY lost a fireman, America a soldier and I, a Friend. Today is my Birthday so I just know this page was sent to me ;-) This was the first card I have received today! It did say a gift, right? What better gift to have on your 53rd birthday than love from a special friend. Now who would have ever dreamed this would come out on MY BIG DAY!! If I was rich I would sponsor your site myself. That's how much I enjoy your work! God Bless you John and keep up the good work!!

I have a young son, and sometimes its hard to walk out of the house when I get a call. Especially when he crys and doesn't want me to go. But I know that I have a job to do,(a service to my community),so I go anyway to help some unknown person, and to back up my brother firefighters. I thank God for always taking care of me. And I know that if any thing happens to me, I'm ready to go. In this profession it pays to be ready to go. If you aren't ready to go then please, get ready. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, and you to will be ready to go. I thank God for each and every Firefighter, and I pray that God would watch over you and take care of you and your families, and comfort those families that have lost their loved ones, and may GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I really love this site, what a beautiful way to express ones's feelings. I too know only too well the empty phrases that I would hear about being a 'lazy' fireman sitting around all day...and not too often did we hear, "We thank you'... But always remember that we are a proud breed, and are always there to help and protect others, for that IS a very special calling......and for that I am thankful, to give is better than to receive!
May God Bless and Guide the families of all our fallen heroes and may he keep us all safe from harm...

God Bless America and the Heroes all over the nation, big and small. Whether it be pulling a child out of a burning inferno or walking an elderly person across the street. United we stand and that needs to be remembered throughout our daily lives.....together!

I just want to tell you this was a great piece. My husband is a fireman & it so often gets overlooked the great job they do. They put their lives on the line everyday, not just when they feel like it. They are always there for us. This was a great way of showing a tribute to all of the "Heros" in our lives. Thank you!
