The Story Behind Getting My First Festiva

I have been wanting one of these cars for sometime now, but never had the right opportunity get one. I was driving a 1985 Nissan Stanza, until the clutch went out in it. Since my brother is a mechanic, he said that he would put one in for me. That left me with my street rod a 1978 Ford Pinto, with a 302 V-8, which gets about 12 MPG.

  A few weeks went by and my brother hadn't started on it, so I had to do something fast, so I went out car shopping. It was my 3rd day looking, that is when I noticed the Festiva in a dealer lot, so I stopped with my roommate and took it for a test drive and fell in love with it.

 They were asking $1,500 for it, I asked them what is the best they could do on it, he told me $1,100, since it had a crack windshield. I told him I would take it. So I went home got the money and came back and drove it home.
I checked the gas mileage and it got 36.2 MPG. That is about 70% in town driving and 30% highway driving. Date of purchase was July 29, 2000

 1990 Festiva LX Sport, 1.3 L I-4 engine with EFI, 110,309 miles on it when I bought it, 3 speed automatic, sport bucket seats, power steering, factory A/C, Full gauge setup with Tachometer, Interval wipers, AM/FM Cassette (which I replaced with a Sony AM/FM CD player with two 100 watts bass cannons) map pockets on both doors, tilt wheel,  duel  power mirrors, split rear seats, rear defroster, black stripe paint on the hatchback and around the side back glass, rear wiper. Most of the bright reddish vinyl tape striping on the bumper has pealed off.

I did order a set of fuel injectors on Jan 12th, from www.festivamotorsport.com for LG and they should be in sometime the week of Jan. 22nd, since they are on back order. This car is very peppy the way it is and hoping it will make it even a little more peppier.

I hope to, this summer, to get better pictures of both cars, to replace the ones I have on here now. Some of the other things that I plan on doing this summer is to buy a rear spoiler* for both of the cars, as well as a nice set of 13" rims. Also I plan on painting the bumpers to match the color of the cars or may just use black bumper paint. I named my cars from my best friend Geronimo, hence "Little G" and "Little G II".

(*It took a little longer than expected, but I finally got one of the rear spoilers that I wanted,
check it out here
)

Just bought a set of Diamond Blue driving lights, hoping to install them soon and have a  few pictures of it as well.

(Wow, I sure have neglected in updating my site, sorry. I plan on taking all new pics this spring when the grass turns green.{02-14-03})
