The Story Behind Buying "LG-II"

Every since I bought my first Festiva, I have been looking to buy another one, but with a stick shift.  I was driving home from taking my friend to work, that is when I noticed there was a Festiva for sale, sitting beside the road. I turned around and called the number on the windshield and a few minutes later a guy pulled in and asked if I was the one who paged him, I said yes. He was asking $1,650 for it and after I took it for a test drive, I ask what was the bottom dollar for the car, he said $1,550. I told him that I would give him $1,400. He said that he doubt it if his partner will go that low, but would call him as see. A few minutes later, he came back and said, Merry Christmas, he will take $1,400 for it. I paid the man and picked the car up the following morning. Date of purchase was December 20, 2000

I found out that I am the second owner of the car. The first owner kept all records of maintenance he did to the car. It was so clean, one could almost confuse it with a new car. The interior looked brand new, except for one very small wear tear in the driver seat. The exterior on the passenger door, there was a small nick in the door, which looks like where someone opening their car door and hit it. I have all the original papers from the dealership, including the bill of sale and a copy of the 1st owner title, showing it had 3 miles on it.

It's a 1993 Festiva L, 1.3 L I-4 engine with EFI,  68,346 miles on it, 5-speed, it didn't come with a radio and the guy never even had one installed. Man, could you imagine driving the car for 7 years with no radio? No, way, so I put in a nice graphical face CD in the car, with a 100 watt bass cannon. He did have a Dealer installed A/C put in it. I checked the gas mileage and it got 44.7 MPG. That is about 70% in town driving and 30% highway driving. I replaced the original spark plugs today, January 13th (the original spark plugs were seized in the block!). All the electrodes, on the plugs were starting to wear down. The gap ranged between .052 to .060 of an inch, which should have been .044. So I should know in a few days, if it made any difference in the MPG or not, but I know it made a difference in idling and seems to have more power. I plan on buying a set of injectors for LG-II from www.festivamotorsport.com after I see how they perform in LG.

I hope to, this summer, to get better pictures of both cars, to replace the ones I have on here now. Some of the other things that I plan on doing this summer is to buy a rear spoiler for both of the cars, as well as a nice set of 13" rims. Also I plan on painting the bumpers to match the color of the cars or may just use black bumper paint. I named my cars after my best friend Geronimo, hence "Little G" and "Little G II".

I just added a nice set of Diamond Blue driving lights and hope to have a few picture of it on here soon.
